COVID-19 SPPM Message

It is ideal to do this training face-to-face, but after COVID-19 restrictions, we learned how to do things differently. The virtual platform can train you almost as good as a classroom. There is added convenience using this platform.

Family Members: This class was designed especially for you. We know that you do not always have time to attend one of the classes at the unit - and some of you may not want to be around a group of boisterous Soldiers. When you complete this course, you will have a solid understanding of how things work in the military regarding suicidal thoughts and seeking help.

Soldiers: You will receive training from the command Suicide Prevention Program Manager on this platform and you will still learn a lot of good information should follow up by speaking with your first line leaders about what you have learned. Your leaders will do your role-play through the platform of choice, or telephonically. Train as you fight! In reality, your interventions will likely take place on a phone call so this is your chance to train up in the same manner - not in a stuffy classroom or falling asleep to Powerpoint.

The course uses modules and vignettes to help in your learning and keep you focused. If you need a refresher, you have open access to the course content.
